In times of distress, it can be difficult to share with anyone, let alone someone you’ve never met. Building a relationship is the most important step in the counseling process and hinges on empathy, respect and safety within the therapy office. Healing happens when we feel fully accepted while being vulnerable and authentic. This can only be achieved through a strong therapeutic alliance. In this space, you will be welcomed, heard and supported.

I tailor the counseling experience to each individual’s unique needs. By incorporating therapeutic activities, creative resources, and thoughtful discussions, I work to help clients gain self-awareness and utilize new skills. I am most passionate about helping children, adolescents, young adults and families overcome: anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, identify formation, parent-child conflict, life transitions, parental divorce, challenging behavior, trauma, stress management and self-regulation. Our time in counseling may also include an exploration of your family-of-origin, goals, present habits and emotional struggles. All of this happens at your pace, based on your needs and feedback.

My professional background consists of previous work in an intensive outpatient unit, private practice and residential treatment. I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Martin and obtained my Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Freed-Hardeman University. When I’m not at the office, you’ll most likely find me watching movies, traveling, camping or reading a good book.

I’m looking forward to working alongside you and/or your family to create meaningful change that improves everyone’s quality of life.
